Congrats Brandon, Mary Beth, and Haper for your new addition. I’m so glad I got to photograph him so early in his life!

I’ve known Sarah since she was a freshman in college at Murray State. She was the sweetest thing I’d ever met! She decided after one year at MSU that it wasn’t the college for her (It’s ok Sarah–I won’t hold it against you!) so she transferred to WKU and met Sean. I kept up with her through Facebook and about a year ago, she contacted to tell me she was engaged and wanted me to shoot her wedding.

I’m not sure that I’ve even seen a couple smile so much on their wedding day! I’m sure Sean’s face had to hurt by the end of the night from smiling so much. He was so giddy to see her walk down the aisle…and once he set eyes on her, I don’t think he ever took them off. It was so sweet to watch them interact throughout the day.

Sarah’s family are huge Auburn fans. The only request her dad had the entire day was to pin these tails on and get a few photos before they walked down the aisle.

I loved his cake! Sarah surprised him with this huge cheeseburger and fries. The bun and fries were all cake!

I think it took three tries for him to throw the garter. The first attempt hit Sarah right in the face!

Philip proposed to Emily on this bench! 

Philip and Emily, Thank you for letting me play a small part in these big moments! I know you will be amazing and fun parents. Lucy will be a blessed girl! I can’t wait to meet her!

This was my second wedding to shoot in Lovett Auditorium on Murray State’s campus. I’ve known Blair’s twin brothers for a long time, but never really knew Blair very well. Then in 2010, our church took a team to Nicaragua and I got to spend the whole week getting to know Blair. She had just met Kip before we left, so the entire week we traveled we picked on her about the new man in her life. Little did we know that he was THE one! I was so excited when Blair asked me to shoot their wedding. I knew no matter what dress she wore, what colors were picked, which theme was chosen…she would make a gorgeous bride! And, I was right! Spending the day with them and their families was a privilege and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to do so!

In all my years as a student and resident of Murray, I’ve never realized that the chairs in Lovett had an “M” on them. How fitting since their last name is Mathis!

The date on her dress was her something blue. Such a neat idea!

Shhh…don’t tell! We found this bike just sitting on campus, so we “borrowed” it for a few pics!

Lauren & Adam actually met in the library. She was studying with her roommate at a table. Adam’s friend wanted to go hit on Lauren’s roommate, so he made Adam come with him. So, while their two friends chatted, Adam and Lauren hit it off! As they told me this story, I decided we had to do some in the library since that’s where it all began!

We had so much fun during this shoot. Dirk is hilarious and he makes Anna smile and burst into laughter a lot. I could truly see the joy in their relationship. I admit…he even had me laughing a lot too!! It was pretty windy and a little chilly, but I love the shots we got. I can’t wait for their wedding in May!

I suggested they play in the leaves, so I told them to pick up a pile and throw them at each other. Dirk picked up a huge pile and literally THREW them at Anna! I think it took us about 5 minutes to get all the leaves out of her hair. Sorry Anna!

This wedding was amazing! DJ & Amanda are good friends of ours (who unfortunately just moved away…boo!). We started getting to know them last year when they both started getting involved at our church. They were just dating at the time and the more we got to know them, the more we knew they were meant for each other. It was a happy day when DJ finally proposed!! I was so honored to be able to shoot their big day. It was a special one with lots of laughs, tears, and The Avett Brothers! There were lots of unique touches of country chic and many collectibles from Amanda’s grandparents. It was heaven for a photographer! So, sit back and enjoy looking through these photos!

As we were taking pictures at Pogue, a group of students on a scavenger hunt frantically asked if they could take a photo with DJ & Amanda. Before we knew it, they had ran up the steps, gathered around, snapped the picture, and ran away while yelling “You look pretty!” to Amanda. It all happened so fast. After they ran off, DJ said “what just happened?!?” It was pretty comical!

Amanda has grown up a Murray State Racer fan since her dad works for the university. DJ & Amanda met there, they both graduated from there, she works for the university as well…so it was only fitting to get married there! I love these next few photos of them doing a Racer chant!

DJ’s best man gave the best speech I’ve heard…it made the whole room laugh really hard and cry like babies (including me!)
