How it all started is actually a funny story. They were students in the same department and knew each other in passing from spending so much time in the same building. Ryan asked Lindsey to go for ice cream over and over, but since she was dating someone else, she always replied with a “no.” Then at the end of a semester everything changed, Ryan asked one more time, and Lindsey said “yes!” A few days later, Ryan graduated and moved to Huntsville, AL and they’ve been in a long distance relationship ever since. 

Since Lindsey loves ice cream and she finally gave in and went on a DQ date with Ryan after a year of asking…we had to stop by for some pics!

Chris & Ashleigh met at Murray State while they were both college students. After they both graduated, they moved to Kansas where Chris is from. Since most of Ashleigh’s family lives in the Chicago area, they decided to get married there. My husband and I went up a few days early to explore Chicago (see blog post here) and on Saturday drove about 45 minutes outside of the city to spend the day with these two love birds and their friends and family!

This was such a special moment. Asheleigh’s mom passed away last year and before her dad danced with her, he gave Ashleigh her mom’s wedding ring.

Chris had to work some moves to get to that garder!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Barry! Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I pray for a life of joy and laughter together!

Chance & Kirstin have been together for three years. They were naturals in front of the camera and you can tell they are totally comfortable with one another. Chance said they were naturals because Kirstin’s family take a lot of photos, but I think they’re great models! They had a huge audience too, since all the quilter’s were swarming downtown! 

Between the three of us, no one could tie Chance’s tie. So, we decided to ask some men who were sitting around downtown (probably bored as their wives did whatever the quilter’s do down there!) The first man we asked said he only used clip-on’s and obviously Chance needed to as well!! But these men were nice… they tied the tie and congratulated them on getting married!

Congratulations Kirstin & Chance! I can’t wait for your big day in August!

Alec ADORES her and it’s obvious! I noticed it during their engagement session back in January. He never takes his eyes off of her and you can tell he always puts her first. They balance each other out so I know they are going to have a healthy and happy marriage!

We dodged rain all day, but neither of them seemed to care. Check out some of my favorites from their special day!

Since their wedding was themed with the fleur de lis, these cufflinks were perfect!

I know I say this every time a couple sees each other for the first time down the aisle…but I just love their expressions! They’ve waited all day for this!

Alec lip-synced a song for Lindsey and it was hilarious! Good job, Alec!

I’ve been to Gino’s before…but this Four Cheese Pizza was the best I’ve EVER had. No joke.

I’m not usually afraid of heights, but standing on glass 4 feet out of the Skydeck,  looking 103 floors down freaked me out!! 

This was my favorite shot of the city. It was a block down from our hotel and at night it was the prettiest place in all of Chicago! Well–at least in my opinion

I’ve known Tom & Kristin for a while now. They go to church with us and we are in a small group together. We’ve been able to do life with them through their graduations, new jobs, and now the beginning of their marriage. It was an honor to spend the day with them and their families.

Since the day was so nice, they had their first look outside the church. I love the way Tom’s face lit up once he saw her!

Their families hung out with us during the wedding party photos. I love this shot of Tom’s parents that my husband got!

The kiss was almost forgotten until Tom reminded the pastor. He went in for a big one!

Instead of a candy bar, they did a cookie bar. I’ve never seen so many cookies! And did I mention they were all home made?!? 

I love how kids at receptions always have to go admire the cake. Tom’s niece couldn’t take her eyes off of it!

And his other niece…well, she just tuckered out. Being a flower girl is hard work!

Although Samantha didn’t know me, I felt like I knew her. When we met up for our consultation, I realized that she was one of my favorite waitresses at the best restaurant in town…Dumplins! Now she teaches in Crittenden Co. where my brother-in-law attends high school. They have been together for four year, so it’s time for a wedding. They’re getting married in June and I can’t wait to photograph their big day!
